The claimant count in West Oxfordshire rose to 1,380 in February 2026 and 1,410 in March, then improved to 1,340 in June, when the proportion of residents aged 16 to 64 claiming eased to 1.8% from 1.9% in February. Modelled unemployment rose to 1,700 in the year to March 2026, while economic inactivity fell to 9.1%, of which 47.2% were students. Four of the eight readings moved favourably.
